id8 APPROACH
Our approach to application definition
Our approach to application definition, or requirements gathering, is more efficient, effective, and visual than traditional requirement methodologies. Prototyping begins immediately, starting with a small set of high-level requirements, or even just ideas of what you want your application to do. With each subsequent iteration, proposed solutions are validated and the next level of requirements is uncovered. Seeing what you’re asking for helps to refine your needs quickly and precisely.
More importantly, our methodology incorporates skilled facilitation with rapid prototyping. Our consultants have many years of experience working with clients to draw out business needs and translate them into meaningful prototypes.
We also involve users in the application definition process. We believe that a successful application satisfies business and user needs equally. We involve both communities in the process from the start, and use the prototype as a common point of reference. The prototype can be used for informal or highly organized, data-driven usability testing.
By the end of our definition process, your approved ideas and requirements take the form of a high-fidelity prototype that can be reviewed and validated by business stakeholders and end users, and ultimately delivered to development and testing teams as a completely unambiguous model of the application to be built—all before you use any resources for development.
