Senior Application Definition Analyst

id8 is looking for UX Professionals / Information Architects / UI Designers. We are a rapidly growing software consulting firm with a revolutionary, prototype-driven approach to application definition and design.

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary, generous bonus opportunities, stock options and tremendous growth potential. Up to 75% travel is required, depending on project needs. You will generally be onsite 4 days/week, although some work may be done remotely.

Applicants in the Chicago and San Francisco areas are preferred, but candidates in other locations with a willingness to travel may be considered.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be responsible for the design and creation of interactive, high fidelity, prototypes of complex web applications using iRise, a graphical prototyping tool. We will provide extensive training and on-the-job mentoring to make you the best in the field.

You will work directly with project stakeholders and end users onsite to develop functioning prototypes that are suitable for communicating requirements to development teams, executive review, and/or user testing.

Project responsibilities may also include:

  • Design and implement highly usable interfaces with optimal user experience, working with product managers, subject matter experts, software engineers, and/or project managers
  • Produce highly functional and accurate prototypes to effectively test and communicate designs
  • Work with project stakeholders and subject matter experts to validate designs and iterate on findings
  • Conduct prototype review sessions with stakeholders to validate requirements and generate feedback
  • Conduct end-user testing to evaluate the user experience and uncover usability issues
  • Distribute prototypes to stakeholders, collect and analyze feedback

QUALIFICATIONS

Educational Requirements:

  • BA/BS or MA/MS in related field

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience designing highly usable interfaces
  • Experience with user-centered design methodologies
  • Strong information and interaction design experience
  • Experience developing conceptual models, flowcharts, prototypes, style guides, and/or graphic interface mockups
  • Strong visualization and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS design capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based environment
  • Excellent cross-team collaboration, communication, written and organizational skills
  • Ability to meet ambitious deadlines and deliver high-quality work on schedule
  • Strong skills in prototyping and designing effective solutions to complex business problems

Bonus Points for:

  • Experience conducting usability testing and analysis
  • Hands-on coding, scripting, and/or DBA experience
  • Experience with iRise Studio, Flash or Axure
  • Experience designing and/or developing Web 2.0 applications
